Margaret Ann Dundas passed away on January 10, 2016. A mother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend, Margaret was a great resource for kind words, wise advice, life stories, and laughter to all who were lucky enough to know her. She was born in Dallas, Texas on November 3, 1929 to Ed and Thelma Furlow. Margaret’s best friends growing up were her siblings, Mary Jane, Edward David and John Charles. Dallas was her home for most of her life. The exception was Montevideo, Uruguay when in 1953, while visiting Mary Jane, Margaret met and eventually married a handsome cattle buyer from North Dakota, Jack McDonald. Unfortunately, after 10 happy years, Jack died after a long illness in 1964 at the young age of 33. Margaret returned to Dallas and forged on with the help of her Catholic faith, family, and friends where she raised their two young daughters Mary Katherine and Rita Jean. In 1972 Margaret married Charles Dundas, a pilot, with whom she shared many wonderful years before he died suddenly of a heart attack in 1979. Again armed with great faith, family, friends, and her Saint Monica parish community, Margaret continued to live her life with joy and love until her passing. Margaret lived by example and demonstrated her love for God in all she did. Her unyielding dedication to her faith was admired by the many people who will miss her and considered her their rock, mentor, and giver of unconditional love.
Margaret is survived by her greatest joy, daughter, Mary Katherine McDonald; brothers Edward David Furlow and wife, Joselyn, John Charles Furlow and wife, Martia; stepsons Bruce, Paul and Glen Dundas; numerous beloved nieces, nephews with whom she shared a special bond and other loving family members and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial, preceded by a Rosary, will take place on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Monica Catholic Church, 9933 Midway Rd., Dallas, Texas, 75220. A private interment will take place at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
