Margaret Alison Simpson Hayward passed away in Dallas on November 3, 2011. She was born in Logan, Utah, on August 27, 1922. She was the daughter of Robert Mitchell and Mary Alice Pinnock Simpson. Educated in the Logan city schools, she attended Utah State College, where she was a member of the Alpha Gamma chapter of Chi Omega.
Throughout her life, Mrs. Hayward served on women’s club boards, and as a volunteer for the American Red Cross, Chamber of Commerce, libraries, and the Republican Party. She served on the boards of home owners’ associations and Friends of the Library in Beaufort South Carolina. She was a member of Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, an elder, and a volunteer.
She is survived by her daughters, Alison H. Mimms of Marietta, GA, Roxanne Hayward of Addison, TX, and Carol H. Passar of Reston, VA; also by her sister, Dorothy S. Guthrie of Moscow, ID; and two sisters-in-law, Beverly Hayward of Billings, MT; and Afton H. Stuart of Rexburg, ID. Mrs. Hayward was predeceased by her husband, MG (ret) Harold I. Hayward, three brothers, and one sister.
A memorial service and reception for family and friends to follow will be held at 2PM on December 3rd at Sparkman Hillcrest.
