Margaret was the daughter of Azell and Theo Neal, whose love and guidance shaped the foundation of her strong and faith-filled life. She was a proud matriarch whose life was a testament to strength, grace, and devotion. She was a guiding light in the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy filled with compassion, wisdom, and joy.
Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Booker Watson, who passed in 1983. In the years that followed, she shared her life with her longtime companion, Cenior Hunt, who remained a loving and devoted father figure to her children until his passing in 2004.
She was the mother of seven children: Benard Johnson (deceased), Dora Williams, Vanessa Garrett, Wylene Johnson, Wiley Johnson, Anthony Watson, and Booketta Maloney. She was also a loving mother-in-law to her sons-in-law, Darrell Garrett and Tracy Maloney. Her love and pride extended to her many grandchildren: Tameka Johnson, Tekayla Williams, Chaundra Soliz, Antoinette Watson, Letonyette Williams, Antonio Watson, Markina Williams, Devon Johnson, Antoinasia Watson, Thomas Watson, Antoinesia Watson, Austin Johnson, Theo “T.J.” Johnson, and Jaylen Johnson. She was also blessed with 14 great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy and whom she adored deeply.
Through her bond with Cenior Hunt, it included bonus children Cenior, Wanda, and was preceded in death by her bonus daughter, Marshall. She was also blessed with bonus grandchildren, Jureau and Chevon, whom she loved dearly.
Margaret was the cherished sister of Oscar Neal, Rickey Neal, Rose Cooley, Dorothy Maxey, Mentha (Peggy) Bledsoe, Sherry Draper, and Garry Holman. She was preceded in death by her siblings Al Holman, Charles Holman, Bill Holman, Tommy Holman, Jerry Holman, and Juanita Clanton. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.
Margaret found purpose and joy in praising the Lord and most recently served as Mother of the Church at The Way of Christ Christian Church, where her wisdom and spirit uplifted everyone who knew her.
She delighted in the simple pleasures of life—a good Western movie, Jack Daniels ribs from TGI Fridays, Chinese food, and Popeyes chicken. She had a passion for shopping for church clothes, hats, and purses, always striving to be the best dressed on Sunday mornings. But more than anything, Margaret cherished the moments spent surrounded by family. Her presence was the glue that kept her family strong. Margaret's memory will forever be a blessing to all who knew her.
