Margery graced our earth for 102 years and gave as much love, if not more, than she received. Her loving spirit was felt by every one. The moment you met her, her warmth, kindness and those sky blue eyes captured your heart.
She was the daughter of Vernon and Harry Schwartz, sister to David, Douglas and Sally, aunt to many and adored by all, especially her loving son-in-law, David Steinberg.
Margery graduated from the University of Kentucky and after college became a flight attendant for TWA when flying was like the Wild West. She met her husband, Paul Thayer, who was a pilot for TWA and their love story began. Eventually, they moved to Dallas and had their daughter Brynn.
Strong friendships were so important to Margery as was her church, Preston Hollow Presbyterian and her deep relationship with God. She was an elegant lady who embodied charity, strength,
resilience and faith.
Margery had more than one daughter…not by blood but by heart: Debbie, Linda, Barbara, Ruth, Babs, Susan, Jenny Margaret, Kelsey and dearest Vicki. All her other life-long besties have been waiting to welcome her to heaven.
Brynn is forever grateful for her mother’s extraordinary caregivers, Gloria, Carolyn, Tiffany, Ivett, DeAndra, Victoria, Violet, Brenda, Kimberly, Ramsey and Ignacia all led by the amazing, the devoted Catherine Greathouse. Catherine and her “A” Team are angels on earth.
“God’s Transport Team”, the powerful women of Hospice Plus, included Faustian, Lucy, Darla and Julia. Their presence was driven by compassion and caring.
Many thanks go to the staff of the Belmont Village Senior Living at Turtle Creek, especially Biz Desta. Their dedication to comfort and care is unsurpassed.
Brynn and Margery had an iconic relationship blessed by God. As far as Brynn is concerned, their unrivaled relationship is enduring, exceptional and eternal. The world became a better place when Margery Thayer was in it.
If so desired, memorials in Margery’s name may be made to the Gladney Center for Adoption 6300 John Ryan Dr., Fort Worth, Texas 76132
