

Margurite was a beloved presence in the lives of those who knew her, and her passing is mourned with deep respect and gratitude for the years shared with her.
Throughout her life, Margurite was known for the quiet strength of a hard-working spirit. She dedicated herself to honest work and steady service, including time in bindery for different print shops, as well as caring for babies and toddlers as a nanny. She also served as a bus monitor and school crossing guard for DISD—roles that reflected her dependable nature and the care she extended to others in everyday ways.
Margurite is preceded in death by spouse David Ramirez Cantu, mother Bartola Alonzo Martinez, father Juan Lopez Martinez, granddaughter Trini Cantu, and sister Yolanda Martinez.
She is survived by: Cynthia Newton(Jerry), Angie Rodriguez, Betty Cantu, Bartola Mojica, David Cantu Jr., and Anthony Reyna Cantu. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Vincent Cantu, David Duran, Louis Ray Medina(Teresa), Robert Valencia, Ray Christopher Valencia (Francisca), Damian Cantu, Erica Vasquez (Manny), Colton Newton (Kristie), David Cantu III (Bianca), David Cantu IV (Adriana), and Aiden Cantu and great grandchildren: Kylee T. Nunnery, Victoria J. Cantu, Dominick C. Vasquez, Danica L. Duran, Alexander J. Vasquez, Gabriel R. Valencia, Carter D. Newton and Nolan G. Newton. She is also survived by her siblings: John Martinez and David Martinez(Dora).
In her personal life, Margurite found comfort and purpose in the familiar rhythms of home. She enjoyed sewing, ironing, and cooking for the holidays—simple traditions that became lasting memories for those around her. She also took pride in cleaning her sons Bars, offering her time and effort in the same steady way that defined so much of her life.
Margurite Martinez Cantu will be remembered with respect, and with enduring appreciation for the love she gave and the work she faithfully carried through the years.
Visitation will be held at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Parish, 4015 S Hampton Rd, Dallas, Texas 75224, on May 15, 2026, at 9:30 am, followed by the Rosary at 10:10 am and the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, Texas 75220.
