Maria R. Torres Ortiz

Rosario Torres Ortiz falleció el 23 de julio de 2025 en Dallas, Texas, a la edad de 59 años. Nacida el 29 de septiembre de 1965 en México, hija de Margarita Ortiz y Manuel Torres, María fue una de 16 hermanos y creció rodeada de una familia numerosa y llena de vida.

María se dedicó en su vida profesional a la educación, impartiendo clases en escuelas primarias en México. Su pasión por el aprendizaje se extendía más allá del salón: le encantaba asistir a cursos universitarios y explorar nuevas materias, en particular las culturas indígenas. También disfrutaba coleccionar artefactos de que reflejaban su profunda curiosidad y aprecio por la historia. En Texas, disfrutaba trabajar en eventos grandes como bodas y graduaciones.

En casa, a María le gustaba pasar el tiempo en su jardín, donde cuidaba con cariño sus tulipanes, rosas, suculentas y matas. Su hogar era un reflejo de su espíritu vibrante: rebosaba color, alegría y calidez. Conocida por su personalidad vivaz y su risa contagiosa, María llenaba de alegría cada reunión. Las fiestas de cumpleaños en su casa estaban llenas de diversión y dulces recuerdos, que a menudo terminaban con invitados llenos de más chantillí de lo que comían. Disfrutaba organizar fiestas navideñas donde mostraba sus creativos Nacimientos. En su tiempo libre, se divertía saliendo a bailar con sus amigos, visitando a familiares y amigos afueras, cantando karaoke con su familia, y haciendo hermosos dibujos.

María inculcó en sus hijos un profundo respeto por la educación y el crecimiento personal. Su amor por sus hijos y nietos era inmenso, y atesoraba cada momento que pasaba con ellos. Se mantenía firme en sus valores y siempre estaba dispuesta a ayudar a los que lo necesitaban.

Le precedieron en el reino de Dios sus padres Margarita Ortiz y Manuel Torres; y sus hermanos Manuelito, Juan Pablo Torres Ortiz, y dos gemelos bebes.

Le sobreviven sus hijos Jeremy, Jessica y Janet (Jorge); sus nietos, Karen, Isaac y Adam; sus hermanas, Rosa, Lupe, Pati, Fani, Melita y Margarita; hermanos, Pepe, Chavo, Juan Manuel, Mario, y Alfonso; queridos amigos, Yuri y Suzanne Armal; numerosos primos, sobrinos, y amigos.

Rosario Torres Ortiz passed away on July 23, 2025, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 59. Born on September 29, 1965, in Mexico to Margarita Ortiz and Manuel Torres, Maria was one of 16 siblings and grew up surrounded by a large and lively family.

Maria dedicated her professional life to education, teaching at the elementary school level in Mexico. Her passion for learning extended beyond the classroom—she loved attending college courses and exploring new subjects, particularly indigenous cultures. She also enjoyed collecting rare stone artifacts that reflected her deep curiosity and appreciation for history. In Texas, she enjoyed working catering events for large gatherings such as weddings and graduations.

At home, Maria found joy in her garden, where she lovingly tended to her tulips, roses, succulents, and vines. Her home was a reflection of her vibrant spirit—alive with color, laughter, and warmth. Known for her vivacious personality and infectious laugh, Maria brought joy to every gathering. Birthday parties at her house were filled with playful fun and sweet memories—often ending with guests wearing more icing than they ate. She enjoyed hosting Christmas parties where she showed her creative Nacimiento displays. In her spare time, she had fun going out with her friends dancing, visiting family and friends out of town, singing karaoke with her family, as well drawing and making beautiful art.

Maria instilled in her children a deep respect for education and personal growth. Her love for her children and grandchildren was boundless, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She stood firm in her values and was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Margarita Ortiz and Manuel Torres; and siblings, two baby twins, Manuelito, and Juan Pablo Torres Ortiz.

She is survived by her children Jeremy, Jessica, and Janet (Jorge); grandchildren, Karen, Isaac, and Adam; sisters, Rosa, Lupe, Pati, Fani, Melita, and Margarita; brothers, Pepe, Chavo, Juan Manuel, Mario, and Alfonso; dear friends, Yuri and Suzanne Armal; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as many other cherished friends.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. The family invites you to join in honoring and celebrating the life of Maria. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at 2:00 PM followed by a reception at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, Texas, 75220.
