

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Evelyn Allen Corley of Dallas. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Clifton Corley of Dallas. Son, Bruce Cooper and wife Lois of Columbiana, AL. Daughter, Denise Terry and husband Keith of Garland, TX. Son Lee Allen Corley and wife Mary Dayle of Buda, TX. Son, Bryan Corley and wife Christine of Forney, TX. Daughter, Angela Webster and husband Tom of Marshall, TX. His grandchildren: Joyce Jones, Lydia Nichols, Clinton Cooper, Rueben Terry, Daniel Corley, Joanna Corley, Kathleen Corley, Bo Corley, Joshua Corley, and Celesta Ruiz, and 11 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind numerous beloved family members and friends.
Marion was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during WWII. He was a graduate of Auburn University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. While attending seminary, he served as Music Minister of Lakeside Baptist Church in Dallas, TX, where he met his future wife, Evelyn.
Marion was appointed a Southern Baptist career missionary in 1962 and served in Colombia, South America for 22 years. While there, he was given abundant opportunities to witness to the people and share God’s love for them. Before this, he was a pastor in his native state of Alabama for 7 ½ years, serving Wilton Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Alabaster.
Upon his retirement, he and Evelyn returned to Dallas and became members of the former Lakeside Baptist Church, now Lake Point Church – White Rock. Marion published several musical compositions in both English and Spanish. He was an inventor and a poet, both of which enhanced his service on the mission field. As an author, he compiled many stories of his family's experiences on the mission field and published them in 2 books. Throughout his years of service, Marion served his Lord in many capacities. He and Evelyn opened their home to people, started churches, led Bible studies, and ministered to hurting families. Marion considered it his highest honor to be a child of Christ the King!
Family will receive friends from 6pm until 8pm, Friday, April 28, 2017 at Sparkman-Crane funeral Home, 10501 Garland Road, Dallas, Texas, 75218. Funeral service will be held at 2pm, April 29, 2017 at Lake Pointe Church,White Rock Campus, 9150 Garland Rd, Dallas, TX 75218. Burial will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery, Dallas, Texas.
