Marjorie Louise Riggs

Margie was raised in East Dallas and attended Forest Avenue High School. She married Harold W. Riggs in 1946 and the couple had 3 children. She was a homemaker and worked retail at J.C. Penney Big Town, where she worked for more than 10 years. She was a resident of Rowlett for the past 34 years.

In her spare time, Margie enjoyed bowling, cooking, crocheting, gardening, and spending time with loved ones and family.

Her family and friends will always remember her as a fabulous cook and as someone who loved sharing her food with others.

She is preceded in death by her mother, father, four brothers, and two sisters.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Riggs; her two daughters, Debra Mitchell and husband James and Donna Macaluso and husband Mike; son Mark Riggs and wife Jill; her grandchildren, Andrea Macaluso, Kyle Riggs (Heidi), Steven Burt (Sheila), Randy Burt (Bri), Jessica Pierson (Jason), Erin Hobbs (Nick), Meredith Nolen (Matt), Amanda El-Aya (Phil), and David Burt; Seventeen great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Bob Dunn; her sisters, Mary Ramsey, Donna Sledge, and Betty Freeman; her brothers Kenneth Esner, Johnny Esner, Jimmy Esner, and Frankie Esner; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Margie was a second mother to many friends and family.

A visitation for Marjorie will be held Friday, August 4, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 11:00 AM at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.
