Marjorie Thompson, 95, awoke to meet her savior Jesus Christ when she passed away peacefully in her home on February 2, 2018. She was a member of Cliff Temple in Oak Cliff, Texas beginning in 1930 when she was baptized by Dr. Wallace Bassett at 8 years old. She was married to Morris Thompson, who joined Cliff Temple the week before their marriage in 1942, by Dr Bassett just prior to Morris shipping overseas in WWII. While he was serving his country for 3 years, Marjorie focused her attention on the church teaching the age 8 children’s department. She had a servant’s heart for teaching children and influenced the 4 year old department for 45 years. She is survived by her two daughters, Carole Harris of Desoto and Kathi Lind of Coppell, her 6 grandchildren (Melinda Wolfe, Zack Thompson, Luke Thompson, Joshua Lind, Lauren Lind and Jeremy Lind) and 3 great grandchildren (Chandler Wolfe, Jake Hervoyavich and Kendall Wolfe). She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Thompson, son Kenneth Thompson and grandson Paul Wolfe. The Funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 12:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Dallas, with Visitation held on Monday from 5 to 7 pm on February 5, 2018.
