Mark A. Williams

Mark Williams, affectionately known as “Bo”, was born September, 7, 1952 to the late JoAnn Williams-Barber and Johnny Beck in De Kalb, TX. Mark grew up in De Kalb, TX, and attended Marvin Pyne ISD and graduated from De Kalb High where he was a very accomplished athlete. His sports of choice were basketball and track. Mark accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of Bexar Street Baptist Church in Dallas, TX. Mark married the Love of his life, Cefreslane Wills. To this union, 2 children were born; a son, Marcus Williams, and a daughter, Shantae Williams. They shared their lives together for 42 years, until her passing in October, 2010. Mark was employed with The Southland Corporation until his health failed him. He leaves to cherish his memories a son, Marcus (Shawn) Williams of Houston, TX; a daughter, Shantae (Red) Garland, of Dallas, TX; three brothers, Rev. William Barber, Jr (Shirelle) of Longview, TX, Terry Barber, Stacy (Valerie) Barber, and one sister, Janet Barber-Bell, all of Dallas, TX.; four grandchildren, Shea Williams, J’Bari Williams, Dominick Williams, and Chelsea Garland; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
