

Marlin Sue Braden of Mesquite, Texas, passed away to be with her Heavenly father on Friday, February 10, 2012. Now retired, she was a counselor at North Mesquite High School; taught drama at Brian Adams High School, Mesquite High School and North Mesquite High School. She was past president of the Mesquite Association of Professional Educators; a member of the Texas State Teachers Association and Texas Association of Counseling Development; a Licensed Professional Counselor; member of Kappa Delta Pi. Delta Kappa Gamma, Epsilon Chapter; life member PTA, member of Mesquite Woman's Club, Triskelions, Our Day Book Club, and an English tutor to Vietnamese immigrants. Sue was a member and former Sunday School Teacher of Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church. She loved to travel and was the tour guide for many high school students as well as adults traveling to European countries.
Sue, the daughter of the late Marlin D. and Grace Shepard, was born July 2, 1930, in Purcell, Oklahoma. Survivors include husband, Jack Braden and daughter, Jill Angelyn Braden of Mesquite, as well as, sister-in-law, Eva Braden. She is also survived by nephews, Bill and Todd Braden of Sherman, Chris Braden of Ft. Worth and niece, Vanna Braden of Sherman.
Visitation will be Monday, February 13, 2012 at Grove Hill Funeral Home. There will be a graveside service for family and friends at New Hope Cemetery, Sunnyvale, Texas.
