

Martha was born on August 17, 1933 in McKinney, Texas to Claude Griffin West and Ova James West. She graduated from McKinney High School in 1951 and played in the McKinney Lion Band.
After graduation Martha worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone in downtown Dallas. While riding the Interurban from McKinney to Dallas she met James Burton Bacon, Jr. They were married on November 3, 1952 and later divorced in 1964. Martha also worked for Central National Bank in downtown McKinney. She stop working for awhile to have two children. She returned to downtown McKinney working for Drs. McKissick and Slack Optometrists as an Optometric Assistant. When these drs. retired, Martha had worked for them for over 20 years. Martha then was caregiver to her parents till her mother died in 2008.
Martha enjoyed baking and genealogy research. She was a member of the High Pointe Church of Christ, McKinney, Texas.
Martha is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Bacon Moeller, of Dallas and her husband Don. One grandson, Austin Karl Burton Moeller, also of Dallas. One step-granddaughter, Amy Moeller of Euless. One step-great grandson Evren Cantu, also of Euless. One son, Brad Burton Bacon of McKinney and his wife Debbie. One sister, Avo "Bo" Griffin of Dallas. One niece, Kelly Ann Peterson of Spring and her husband Dannon Two great nephews, Major Peterson and Gage Peterson, also of Spring. Several cousins from both the James and West families.
Martha was a very polite and respectful person in all aspects of her life. She will be deeply missed by her family.
Graveside services will be on Friday, February 9 at 3:00 pm at Pecan Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Martha requested donations be made in her name to Pecan Grove Cemetery, P. 0. Box 692, McKinney, TX 75070.
