Martha Faye Cannon

Martha Faye Cannon, age 91, passed away on January 30, 2024 in Kemp, Texas with her son, Gary by her side. She was born on October 16, 1932 in Dallas, Texas to Austin and Louvie Jackson, raised in East Dallas and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High in 1952.

She began working in accounting and bookkeeping for various companies until she retired in 1995. She married Lee Graves Cannon in May of 1953 and they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary May 2023 at the Cedar Creek Lodge in Gun Barrel City, TX.

In her spare time, Martha enjoyed being outdoors sun bathing, vacationing with friends, and attending her grand-kids sporting events and birthday parties. She always enjoyed spending the holidays with families and friends.

Her family and friends will always remember her as a strong, independent woman fooled by no one, and her beautiful smile and sense of humor.

She is preceded in death by her husband Lee Cannon, parents, Austin and Louvie Jackson and brother David Jackson.

She is survived by her son Gary Cannon and wife Cynthia Anderson; grandson Craig and wife, Valerie and their child Leslie Cannon; granddaughter Brittany and her husband Caleb and their children Hadley and Hayden Hall; and her granddaughter Tonya and husband Ben Steiner.

A Visitation will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, and followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Grove Hill Funeral Home Chapel, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. Following the funeral service will be a committal service from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. Light food will be served after the service for those attending.
