PASCHALL, Martha Earlene (Marti) was born May 5, 1953, in Dallas, Texas, and passed away May 10, 2014, in Dallas. She was predeceased by her parents, Dr. Earle Paschall and Martha Pederson Paschall, and an infant sister, Priscilla Paschall. She is survived by several aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.
Marti was always proud of being born and raised in East Dallas. She was a 1970 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and very active with the WWW Alumni group. For the past 10 years, Marti and some of her classmates met once a month with WWW alumni. It made no difference what year one graduated! Marti absolutely LOVED her camaraderie with her fellow “Wildcats.” What started out as once a month happy hour with 4 or 5 people has grown to be sometimes over 100 people meeting, laughing and sharing. Even if she didn’t know you in High School, her love and respect grew between friends, and even strangers. She was amazing and respected by those from other schools. In recent years, Marti started incorporating other East Dallas friends from Bryan Adams.
Marti enjoyed life and got much pleasure in bringing “fun” to everyone around her. She and her Aunt Pat Venner shared a love for gardening. Until she became limited on the use of her body movements, one could find her working in her yard.
Marti LOVED dentistry. She managed her Father’s dental practice for 30 plus years. After her Father’s retirement, she continued to manage other dental practices or worked as a temp in offices in Dallas. She wrote three reference manuals for front desk personnel, incorporating dental insurance into a field that was completely “new” to insurance coverage.
Marti had a “LOVE” for live music! She booked local venues with friends or foes. Marti was a partner in two establishments during the 90’s, therefore, her house band always had a venue in which to play.
Marti gave a very brave fight against lung cancer the past two years. She was an inspiration and loved by many.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy., Dallas. Her funeral will also be at Sparkman /Hillcrest Northwest Chapel on Thursday, May 15, 2014. at 2:00 P.M. Interment will be in the Long Creek Cemetery, Sunnyvale, Texas.
