

Martin Tycher was born December 31, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois. He died on May 27, 2010, in Dallas. He was predeceased by his father, Jack Tycher and mother Lucille Tycher, by his daughter Cathy Tycher and brother Frederick Tycher. Martin is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judy Tycher, four daughters, Laurie Spitz, Cindy Stern and husband Paul, Penney Hardy and Tammy Rivera and husband Larry: eight grandchildren, Brian Spitz, Julie Spitz, Emily Stern, Jackie Elia, Mathew Hardy, Sean Hardy, Ashley Rivera and John Rivera and one great granddaughter, Madelyn Elia. Martin graduated from Sullivan High School, Chicago, Illinois and graduated Roosevelt University, Chicago and proudly served in World War II. Martin along with his brother Fred and father Jack founded Tycher Properties and Tycher Investments. They developed prestigious properties in Dallas: apartment properties behind the Pink Wall, Turtle Creek Village, Dallas Hilton Inn, Village on the Parkway and the Warrington. He had a gift for business and loved being in the business world. Martin served on numerous boards including the State Fair of Texas Board and was active in politics. He was a good man who was respected, loved and enjoyed by all who knew him and many did. A special remembrance to his long time friend, LaVerne McCall, and his care givers Dalton Fulmer and Luz Manuel Marcias. He was a member of Congregation Shearith Israel. Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 28, 2010, at 10:00 am, at Shearith Israel Cemetery, 4634 Dolphin Road in Dallas, Rabbi Joe Menashe officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Parkinson Foundation or the charity of your choice.
