

He was the only son of Charles & Margaret Norris and is survived by his sister, Charline Thrasher, of Dallas, TX.
Being special needs, Marvin was cared for by his sister his entire life and was loved and adored by many nieces and nephews.
Regardless of his mental challenges, Marvin was employed by Frito-Lay in 1959 and had various duties during his 42 year career before retiring in 2001. After retiring, Marvin decided he would continue to work and became a volunteer with Methodist Hospital in Dallas and did so for an additional 20 years.
Marvin loved sports and was a devout fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks, and Dallas Stars. He was a member of Special Olympics and competed in track and field, basketball, bocce ball, and bowling.
Throughout Marvin’s life, he loved God and was a servant of Him. During his childhood and into his late teens, he served God as an alter server at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on Marsalis Ave. As an adult, he became a parishioner of St. Cecilia Catholic Church on Davis St.
Marvin loved and blessed so many throughout his life. He loved unconditionally and never met a stranger. Through God, he taught the able how to love and cherish life.
God blessed this family with an amazing man and his legacy will not be forgotten.
A visitation for Marvin will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Calvary Hill Funeral Home from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm with the rosary starting at 1:30 pm. A mass of Christian burial will occur on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Calvary Hill Main Mausoleum North Chapel at 2:00 pm, with interment to follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Ln. Dallas, Texas 75220.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Special Olympics in Marvin’s memory.
