Mary Frances Aleman, age 78, passed away on April 15, 2026. Born January 3, 1948, Mary Frances was a beloved and cherished presence whose life was marked by devotion to family, steadfast faith, and a generous spirit that reached far beyond her home. A resident of Rowlett, Texas, she will be remembered with deep respect and enduring love.
Mary Frances grew up in the “Little Mexico Village” in North Dallas, where responsibility found her early in life as she helped care for her eight siblings Nellie Tafalla, Gilbert Hernandez, Pedro Hernandez, Jesse Hernandez, Connie Munguia, Lupe Lomas, Anita Moen, and Aurelio "Lelo" Hernandez. Her roots in the community ran deep, including her membership at Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Little Mexico Village. She attended William B Travis Elementary, Spence Junior High, and Crozier Technical High School, graduating in 1969—carrying forward the kind of hard-working determination that would define her life.
She built a steady career through years of dedicated clerical work, serving at 7-11 corporation, Texas Instruments, Home Interior, and the Dallas Police Department—first in the Records Department and later with 1st offenders - Auto theft, where she retired. Through each season of work, Mary Frances was known for her reliability, resourcefulness, and the quiet strength of someone who could be counted on, no matter what the day required.
On December 22, 1984, Mary Frances married Armando Aleman. Together they built a family that remained at the center of her heart and priorities. She was the mother of Ivy Willis (married to Guy Willis), with two children, Vanessa and Emanuel; and Pete Simon Aleman (married to Janna Pearce Aleman), with five children, Gabriel, Chance, Eden, Pete and Theodore. Her love was devoted and steady—expressed in care, counsel, and the wisdom she shared so naturally.
Mary Frances found joy in simple pleasures and lively company. She sewed in the past, enjoyed Bingo/Lotteria, and liked going to Casino’s. She especially enjoyed meeting new people, and many will remember the happiness of seeing her at the VFW, listening and dancing to Tejano Music—bringing warmth, humor, and an easy sense of connection wherever she went.
Her legacy is one of faithfulness and resilience, grounded in Church, Family and Faith. Those who knew her will miss her smile, her words of wisdom, her resilience and very strong opinions—along with the love and stories she shared so freely. Mary Frances was preceded in death by Husband, Armando Aleman, Father Pedro Hernandez Sr, Mother Guadalupe Mora, Brothers Pedro Hernandez Jr, Jesse Hernandez, and Gilbert Hernandez.
