Mary Louise Wostel Brooks "Nana" left us here on this Earth to be welcomed into heaven on Monday, February 10, 2014 at the age of 86, in Dallas, TX. Her husband of 58 years, Kenneth S. Brooks, has been patiently waiting for her to join him there to watch over us all.
She was born on June 16, 1927 in Portland, Oregon to Rudolph "Rudy" Wostel, Sr. and Elsie Blank. Mary began her working career for Pacific Bell Telephone Company in Tillamook, Oregon as a switchboard operator for over 30 years; retiring from Southwestern Bell in Dallas in 1982.
Mary is survived by daughter Linda Shafer; grandchildren Karen Helget, Robert Shafer and Michael Shafer; 2 great grandsons Joshua Helget and Colton Shafer; sisters Dorothy Wostel (her twin), Elizabeth Severns, and June Wostel, and brothers Rudy Wostel and Paul Wostel.
The family will gather at 1pm for Visitation followed by a Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial to be held at Calvary Hill Funeral Home in Dallas, TX on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 2pm in the Mausoleum Chapel.
Entombment will be at Calvary Hill Mausoleum.
