SMITH, Mary Kathryn “Kay” Satery was born on July 13, 1921 in Dallas Texas to Russell and Lucy Campbell. She went to the Lord on November 26, 2015. Kay was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vernon S. Smith.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Glen Starnes, of Garland; son, James Satery, of Dallas; children from a previous marriage, Larry Satery of Corpus Christi, and Thomas Satery of Wyoming; grandchildren: Troy Prestenberg (Kim), Matt Prestenberg (Cara), both of Garland, J. R. Satery (Jayme) of Los Angeles, and Sunny Satery of Dallas. Kay is also survived by 5 great grandsons and one great granddaughter.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home in Dallas, TX. The Graveside Service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Dallas.
Kay was a lifelong resident of Dallas and a graduate of Adamson High School. She was a past president of The Pathlight Chapter of The American Business Woman’s Association in Dallas. Kay was Executive Secretary to Vernon S. Smith for 30 years prior to their marriage and was a faithful member of Northway Christian Church. She was a loving and giving mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
