Mary Padgett Hancock Rowe, 78, of Dallas, Texas, was called to the Lord on September 3rd, 2020. As her family lay her to rest, she reunites with her mother, Margie Windsor, and father, Jack Padgett. Mary was survived by her beloved husband of 13 years, Herbert Rowe, along with her children: Butch (Hope) Plott, Dr. Cynthia Douglas, Dr. Richard (Pat) Plott, Bart (Sharon) Hancock, Mindy (Marc) Ham, Cheryl Rowe and Beverly Ayer. She was also the proud “Mimi” to her grandchildren: Andrew Plott, Christine Kastler, Ashley Kastler, Madison Plott, Kennedy Plott, Dawson Plott, Victoria Plott, Rylee Douglas, Easton Hancock, Cooper Hancock, Brandon Dorgant, Stefani Dorgant Upchurch, Melissa Dorgant Darvishi, Kelsey Ayer, Jon Ayer and Jacqueline Ham.
Born in Alexander City, Alabama, Mary has always had a servant heart. Her relationship with the Lord was the core to her being as she was actively involved in the Church and worked hard as God’s witness. She also was the President of the Farmers Branch Women’s League, was a caretaker to many, and was loved by all.
Following her devotion to Jesus, Mary served as the matriarch to her family. Whether it was a family brunch or a special day of baking cookies in her kitchen, she was always looking for ways to bring her loved ones together.
To love Mary was also to love her cooking. As a self-taught caterer, Mary leaves a true legacy behind as a master in the kitchen. A few of her many favorite recipes include her famous pound cake, strawberry pie, and triple-chocolate cake.
In addition to her love for the Church, her family and cooking, Mary also loved shopping, she was a long-term employee of Neiman Marcus, she enjoyed travel, and was a fanatic of Auburn football. War Eagle! There aren’t enough words to sum up the character of this marvelous woman. She had a beautiful and compassionate heart and leaves memories behind that we will all cherish forever.
