Mary Anne Thomas

Mary Anne Thomas, beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend, was born on April 24, 1954, the first of eight children born to Owen Edward and Anne Marie Thomas. Mary Anne was a very kindhearted and intelligent woman. She graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas grade school. She went on to attend Ursuline Academy of Dallas where she excelled in debate and distinguished herself by graduating 3rd in her class. Mary Anne was awarded a scholarship to Brown University, and later graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. After working at the Civil Aeronautics Board in Washington D.C., she went on to attend law school at SMU. She practiced law at Jackson Walker and Diamond Shamrock. Later, Mary Anne taught Government and History classes. Faith, family and friends were very important to her. She is lovingly survived by her mother, Anne Marie Thomas, brother Paul Thomas (wife Ruth), sister Teresa Thomas, brother Ed Thomas, sister Linda White, sister Jean Buys (husband Joel), brother Jim Thomas (wife Sarah), sister Carolyn Murray (husband Lee), and 16 nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Owen Edward Thomas. The visitation will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Church at 9:00 am on Saturday, March 8, 2014, followed by a Rosary at 9:30 am. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am. A private burial service will follow at Cavalry Hill Cemetery.
