

Maxine W. (Jones) Minton passed from this life into the loving arms of our Lord on June 14, 2010. Her extended family and friends know the faithful caring, loyalty, and love she brought to everyone within her presence or influence. Maxine was born in Springfield, Missouri on December 7, 1922, and was raised on a crop and livestock farm by her parents, the late Stanley H. and Ruth J. Jones. She is also preceded in death by her husband Troy C. Minton of Dallas, 3 brothers (Stanley K., Donald and Richard Jones) and 2 sisters (Frances Jones Craig and Doris Jones). Maxine graduated from Willard High School in Springfield and completed her business school training at Draughon’s Business College. She then secured a war-time position as secretary for Colonel Taylor in the armaments division of the U.S. Army at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. It was in D.C. where Maxine met Troy who was serving in U.S. Naval Intelligence. She and Troy married in 1947 and moved to Dallas. Maxine is survived by daughter Theresa M. Bush of Dallas, son Myles H. Minton and his wife Karen Minton of Indianapolis, 4 grand-daughters, 1 grandson, and 2 great grand-daughters. The family wishes to extend a sincere thanks to the entire staff of Walnut Place for their care and kindness. Maxine will be in state from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM on June 25th at Sparkman Hillcrest. The funeral service will be held on June 26th at 3:00 PM at Northway Christian Church, burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
