

Melvin Lewis Anderson was born on June 7, 1949, In Fort Worth, Texas, to Odessa Mae Carswell and Doc Wallace, who preceded him in death. He spent his humble beginnings in the Southern area of Dallas, Texas. He received his formal education at Lincoln High School (Class of 1968). Melvin joined hands and married Ruby Anderson, and together, they had their only daughter, Shonda Anderson-Hillary.
Melvin spent several years working for companies such as Pepsi-Cola, Lancaster ISD, and an independent contracting asphalt company. He loved working and teaching his grandchildren about the 70s/80s. Melvin loved watching old western movies and teaching his grandchildren about his favorite comedians/actors (Richard Pryor, Redd Foxx, Sidney Poitier, and Clint Eastwood). He also enjoyed watching sports and loved the Dallas Cowboys.
Melvin is preceded in death by his siblings; Elzina Nance, Thomas G. Anderson, Leslie Harold Anderson Sr., and Pearl Elaine Anderson.
He is survived by his sister, Linda Daniels (Charles Daniels), his daughter Shonda Anderson-Hillary (Henry Hillary), and Grandchildren, Raungi Jones II (Valerie Morales), De'Andre Jones, AnnQuenet Hillary (Kendrew Daniels), and Tyteanna Hillary. He had several great-grandchildren and plenty of nieces and nephews.
He was surrounded by plenty of love from family and friends. He spent his last days enjoying trail ride music and watching sports. All will genuinely miss Melvin. Thank you for everything, "PAW PAW" You are why we know how to love.
