Michael “Mike” Christy, 26, of Dallas, was called home by our Lord unexpectedly on September 25, 2014 due to an enlarged heart. He is the son of Ken and Rosemary Christy, MD and the brother of Rachel, who he considered his most dear friend and confidant. He attended parochial school at Christ the King and completed his high school studies at Jesuit Prep. Mike chose Texas Tech University for his undergraduate studies where he attainted his degree in 2012. He excelled in athletics throughout his formative years and through his love of sport cultivated many wonderful friendships that sustained him all of his life. He was a devoted Ranger fan and loved watching them play with his friends.
Mike was a fearless traveler and had such a zest for life. He loved to travel. In his short life He had traveled to five of six continents extensively. He also had a love of music and worked as a DJ part time along with his full time job at the law firm of Garza and Harris as a mortgage analyst and was well loved by his coworkers. He was looking forward to meeting his friends in Austin to attend the Austin City Limits concerts. Mike’s smile would light up a room and his compassion for his fellow man was so genuine. Mike’s sense of humor brought laughter to all who knew him.
Mike felt a calling to reach out to Hope Cottage about his own adoptive life. His insight and speaking abilities were invaluable to the new parents associated with this wonderful charity.
