Michael N McNeff

Michael N. McNeff, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away on March 7, 2023. Michael was born on May 9, 1946 in Dallas to George and Betsy McNeff. He was graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1964 and the University of Texas in 1969 with a degree in Business Administration and Management. He went on to have a successful career in Commercial Real Estate. He began his real career with the Henry S. Miller Company. Several years later he co founded McNeff - Palmer, a company that built and owned over a million square feet of office buildings in the early 1980’s. In the late 80’s he established The Nichols Group to specialize in the brokerage of apartment sites throughout Texas. He sold many apartment sites to a number of the most prominent apartment developers in the country.

A member of Bent Tree Country Club since 1984, Michael made lifelong friends who enjoyed his quick wit and great sense of humor. He loved playing golf on the weekends with his buddies. He also enjoyed adventure and looked forward to annual motorcycle trips with several close friends. As an avid sportsman, he was attracted to sailing, snow and water skiing, and closely followed his favorite sports teams, especially the Texas Longhorns.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Ada Rosa, his brother Pat, and two daughters, Elizabeth Thurn and Cameron Dollins. His five grandchildren (with another on the way), Taylor, Presley, Tatum, Emma and Olivia fondly referred to him as “Big Tex” and loved hanging out with their grandfather.

Michael truly lived his dream. A Celebration of Michael’s life will be held at Bent Tree Country Club on April 13, 2023 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. Michael left us too soon and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him and appreciated his loyalty and integrity.
