

Millard Lee Chambliss, age 79, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, in Plano, Texas. Born on May 14, 1946, in Dallas, Texas, he was the beloved son of Vernon Ray Chambliss and Bertha Lee Cameron Chambliss.
Lee graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1964 and went on to attend Westminster College in Tehuacana, Texas, where he earned a degree in theology. Following his graduation, he dedicated his life to ministry, serving as a pastor in a small town in southern Alabama for three years. He later became a youth minister at Eastridge Park Congregational Methodist Church, where he touched the lives of many young people.
In addition to his ministry, Lee was a skilled contractor, building and remodeling homes with care and precision. Later in life, he devoted himself to lovingly caring for his elderly parents until their passing, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to family. Lee had a passion for life and a variety of hobbies that brought joy to those around him. He loved painting portraits, tinkering with cars, and cheering on his favorite football and baseball teams. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, whether it was fixing cars for his nieces and nephews or teaching them how to repair things. His kindness extended to friends and neighbors, who knew they could count on him for support and guidance.
Lee is survived by his four sisters: Betty Fitzgerald, Lavern Burkett, Murl Kelly, and Ray Spruiell; four nieces: Janell Grotham, Sandy Beard, Debra Kitchens, and Sarah O'Neal; and four nephews: Mark Fitzgerald, Steve Fitzgerald, Doug Kelly, and David Burch. He leaves behind a large and loving extended family who cherish countless fond memories of his generosity, humor, and warmth.
Millard Lee Chambliss will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, kindness, and service will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A visitation for Millard will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A funeral service will occur Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with the committal to follow at 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
