

Monica was born on August 11, 1966 to Alfred R. Cantu and Susie Canales Cantu of Irving, Texas. Monica was a proud graduate of Farmersville ISD, Class of 1984. She dedicated 40 years of her life to working as a teacher, touching countless lives with her patience, care, and passion for children.
Monica found her greatest joy in being with her family, especially spending time with her beloved mother. She was known for her kindness, her loving heart, and the warmth she shared with those closest to her. She had a special love for her dog Molly (her yorkie) and took great pride in being a devoted and loving mother to her son, Marcello. Monica also cherished life’s simple pleasures—like enjoying her Dr Pepper with extra ice.
She is preceded in death by her father, Alfred R. Cantu. She is survived by her loving mother, Susie Cantu; her sister, Terry Castillo; and her brothers, Alfred Cantu Jr., Michael Cantu, and Bobby Cantu. She also leaves behind nine cherished grandnieces and grandnephews.
Monica will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She will always be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, and aunt whose kindness and love left a lasting impact.
A Rosary will be held at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228, US, on April 1, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, followed by Visitation at the same location from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will take place at Grove Hill Funeral Home on April 1, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, and a Committal Service will follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228, US, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
