

With deep love and cherished memories, the family of Morris Johnson announces his passing. born on March 30th, 1945, in Plain Dealing, Louisiana, Morris Johnson was the beloved son of John and Thelma Johnson, both of whom preceded him in death.
He was raised in a large, close-knit family, sharing his childhood with five sisters and three brothers. Morris was the youngest one of the group, all deceased before his passing:
Lillie Mae (J.T. Neal), Jessie Pearl (Bubba Williams), and Johnnette (Otis Steuman), all of Plain Dealing, LA; Willie B. of Dallas, TX (deceased); Roselyn Johnson of Los Angeles, CA (deceased); Thomas Johnson (Rosie) of Dallas, TX (deceased); James Roy Johnson (Violet Ray) of Dallas, TX (deceased); and Woodrow Johnson (Mattie) of Magnolia, Arkansas (deceased).
On May 30, 1969, Morris johnson married the love of his life, Rosie Lee Daniels, of Plain Dealing, LA. Their union was blessed with two sons: Maurice Johnson (deceased) and Steven Johnson (Sheree), who lives in Dallas, TX. He was a proud grandfather to Kaylin Johnson and Jhe'vante Johnson. The family circle also includes a cherished nieve, Dorothy Marie Lee Grisby. He also leaves to cherish his memory multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Education was important to Morris Johnson, who attended Carrie Martin high School in his hometown. After completing his schooling, he worked as a laborer in Plain Dealing until the age of 20. In 1965, seeking new opportunities, he moved to Dallas, TX, at the request of his brother, Thomas Johnson.
Upon settling in Dallas, he began a career in construction, dedicating himself to the trade until 1982. He then transitioned to a position in the shipping department at BSn Sporting Company, which later became Emerson Supply Company. His commitment and hard work were recognized when he retired at the age of 65, receiving a commemorative watch for his years of loyal service.
A pillar of faith and community, Morris Johnsons joined Golden Chain Missionary Baptist Church in February 1974. He was a devoted and active member, lending his voice to the male chorus and service as a Deacon. His dedication to his church was unwavering, and he stayed a steadfast presence in the congregation until his health failed him.
Throughout his life, Morris Johnson was guided by a deep sense of responsibility and compassion. he was known for his unwavering integrity, gentle spirit, and willingness to help anyone in need. His home was his place of refuge.
As a father and grandfather, he led by example, teaching the importance of honesty, perseverance, and faith. He encouraged his children and grandchildren to pursue their dreams, reminding them that hard work and integrity would carry them through.
Even in retirement, Morris Johnson remained active and engaged, finding joy in simple pleasures and the company of loved ones. He took pride in the legacy he was building, not just through his works or community service, but through the values he instilled in those who knew him.
The legacy of Morris Johnson endures in the lives he touched, the family he nurtured, and the community he served. his story is one of perseverance, love, and unwavering devotion, a life well lived and fondly remembered. he will be deeply missed by all who know him.
The funeral service is scheduled at Golden Chain Missionary Baptist Church, 5023 Wadsworth Drive, Dallas, Texas, on January 9, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A committal service will be held at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas, located at 6300 S. R.L. Thornton Freeway, on January 9, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm.
