Muriel Fletcher, nee Bryan, 88 of Dallas, joined her husband Lewis Fletcher in eternity on Monday, June 30, 2012. Born June 9, 1924 in Amersham England, Muriel met her husband, Lewis, in England while he served in the Eight Air Force during WW II. After the war Muriel made her home in Dallas for the past 67 years. Muriel worked at Colbert’s in Casa Linda for 30 years as cashier and then later as store manager. She was an avid painter, gardener and scrabble player. A member of St. John’s Episcopal Church for 61 years, she was for many years an active member of the altar guild.
Muriel is survived by her children: Elizabeth Benjamin and her husband Ken, Nicholas Fletcher and his wife Patty, John Fletcher and his partner Mark, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and her brother Tony Bryan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends and family, Wednesday, August 1, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home. A memorial service will take place at St. John’s Episcopal Church on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 11:00 am, with a reception to follow.
