Pat, as she was known by many, was born on Jan. 28, 1933, in Fort Worth. She attended Fort Worth public schools, and throughout her school days she was an excellent student, appreciated and respected by all her teachers. In 1951 she graduated at the top of her class from Arlington Heights High School (she was secretary of her senior class).
Pat attended Arlington State College (now The University of Texas at Arlington) for one year, 1951-52, intending to major in Studio Art. But, as she liked to say, "Life intervened," in the form of marriage and the need to enter the workplace. She started out as a secretary with various firms in Fort Worth and then Austin, where her first husband Jim Irion was in law school. After a move to Dallas in 1962 with her second husband Art McIntyre and her children Karen Irion (born 1959) and Patrick McIntyre (born 1961), she began a career as a legal secretary which spanned a period of almost fifty years. Kathy McIntyre was born in 1964. There was a third marriage, to Vene Smith, and then a fourth and final one to Tommy Clemmons.
A woman of many talents and accomplishments, Pat was an artist, a writer, and a devoted worker of jigsaw and crossword puzzles. She also was a voracious reader, with her tastes ranging from romances and thrillers to serious fiction and non-fiction. She loved music of all sorts, from classical to country, with most of the stops in-between. In fact, she was known to visit a dance floor now and then, particularly when country music was playing. Perhaps Pat was happiest when she was just hanging out with friends and family, sharing experiences and discussing the state of the world, often until the wee hours of the morning.
Preceding Pat in death were her parents Dale H. Edmonds, Sr., and her mother, Ruby Alice Hoggard Brown Edmonds Faison. Also preceding her in death were her husbands James Irion, Arthur McIntyre, Vene Smith, and Thomas Clemmons, Sr.
Pat is survived by her children Karen Irion, Patrick McIntyre (Jeanna), and Kathy Hormell; her grandchildren Jacob Civile, Tyler Hormell, and Abby Hormell; her great-grandson Malaki Civile; her brother Dale H. Edmonds, Jr. (Margaret Williams); her nephew Paul Edmonds (Nicole); her great-nephew Gabriel Edmonds; her stepson Thomas Clemmons, Jr. (Cathy); and her step-grandchildren Paul and Meg.c

The members of the family of Patricia Clemmons wish to thank the many dedicated staff members of C. C. Young for the gracious and loving
care given to her over the past six years.
If you wish to make a donation in memory of Pat, we would be grateful for your generosity. The C. C. Young Benevolent Fund would be an ideal recipient. If you would like to donate to a charity that would be close to Pat's heart, you might consider one related to the following: Children, animals, flowers, gardens, or beautiful art. Any charity you choose would be perfect. Actually, Pat probably would like nothing better than to have you dance a happy little dance in her memory, either by yourself or with a loved one. Any music will do.
