Patricia (Hunter) Purdin, age 75, of Mabank passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 from Covid-19 related complications. Patricia was born June 10, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah to William and Nora Hunter.
She married Robert Purdin on April 29, 1976 and they both became a blended family with her son Ronny and his daughters Donna & Deborah. Their daughter Crystal was born 2 years later. They settled down in Grand Prairie, TX but always loved to be on Cedar Creek Lake so they decided to make that their forever home in 1992.
Pat loved fishing and nature but mostly loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed going to casinos and putting together puzzles. In her free time she loved spending time with her best friend and sister Shirley going shopping and having lunch together. Pat was also an active member of the American Legion, Post 310 for many years and enjoyed spending time with all the friends they made there.
She is preceded in death by her father William S. Hunter and her mother Nora L. Hunter. Patricia is survived by her son, Ronny Watson, Jr of Arlington, TX and daughters Crystal Laing of Kaufman, TX, Donna Schwandt of Austin, TX and Deborah Purdin of Plano, TX; grandsons, Ryan Shell of Kaufman, TX , Gage Shell of Crandall, TX, Logan Bachman of Austin, TX, Billy Sanders Walls of Weatherford, TX ; granddaughter Sadie Laing of Kaufman, TX and one great-granddaughter Hadley Shell. She is also survived by her sisters, Shirley Wall of Gun Barrel City, TX and Bonnie Helton of Meridian, ID.
A funeral service for Patricia will be held Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel, 6300 South R.L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232. A burial will follow after at Laurel Land Memorial Park.
