Pearl embraced her faith as a Christian at a young age. She dedicated much of her previous time to St. James Catholic Church. She has been a faithful member at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship for 31 years, 20 plus years as a Silver Stars, and 6 years with the Thrift Store.
Pearl received her bachelor’s degree from Jarvis Christian College. Finding her lifelong partner Dewitt while pursuing your education was a beautiful bonus. Sixty-nine years of marriage is a testament to enduring love and commitment.
Pearl’s career spanned over four decades, she was one of the first African American Register Nurses to be hired at Baylor Hospital. Such commitment to a profession reflects passion and unwavering service.
Pearl was Recognition as a Governor’s Yellow Rose of Texas Awardee. A yellow rose is a symbol of beauty and grace and that she was.
Preceded in death by both parents; husband, DeWitt Harrington; son, Rodney Harrington; three brothers, Clifford Reece, Jr., John Reece and Reginald Harrison, Sr. and one sister, Izetta Spencer.
Memory cherished by daughter Terrnina Haywood (Ronald); two granddaughters, Tianikwa Williams (Brandon) and Roshandra Mack (Christopher I); four great grandchildren, Christopher Mack II, Cadence Mack, Crista Mack and Daijon Williams; one sister, Sharon Evans(Dallas); one sister-in-law, Cynthia Harrison, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. A truly special sister, Essie Ruth Abram Mosley.
