Born in Bastrop, Texas on May 5th, 1931, he spent the great majority of his life in Dallas, Texas. In his time with us, he fulfilled God’s will by being a loving son, a kind brother, a devoted husband, a guiding parent, a caring grandfather, an adoring great grandfather, a supportive uncle and a humorous friend. He lived humbly but worked diligently to provide for his family and those who depended on him.
His interests were simple and predictable. Any given day, you could find him dressed in comfy Dickies chinos and a crisp guayabera. He loved his morning coffee and breakfast as much as he loved his old blue station wagon. He enjoyed films like “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly” and “Dirty Harry” as much as he relished “Ben Hur” and “The Ten Commandments” (his Easter Sunday viewing custom). Aside from a Sunday barbecue with the family, a special meal was a trip to Big Shucks for a plate of fried shrimp. When it came to dessert, there were no favorites…he simply loved them all.
Pedro and Marcelina were blessed with eight sons and daughters who are among his survivors along with his sisters-in law (and next-door neighbors) Luisa Rodriguez and Frances Riojas. His children John, Louisa, Sylvia, Gloria, Edward, David, Mario, George and with their beloved spouses will forever celebrate him. His family extends to 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a multitude of nephews and nieces.
Please join us in the celebration of his life. Rosary service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 4th at 5:00 p.m. at Calvary Hill Dallas. Mass will be held on Thursday, Dec. 5th at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m.
