

Peggie Sue (Cope) Roberson was born on October 27, 1932 in New York, New York, to Wallace Newton Cope & Maude Josephine Coleman. She was the second born of five children who were raised in Dallas, Texas. She attended Adamson High School, and graduated Class of ’50. She loved to dance and would compete in Jitterbug competitions.
In November 1952, Peggie Sue married Billy Jack Roberson and they had two children, Carla Denise & Stephen Michael. They raised their family in the Dallas area until his passing in September, 1969.
In order to provide for her family, Peggie Sue worked as a credit manager. She was also the first female President of The National Association of Credit Management (NACM).
She enjoyed Sudoku and crossword puzzles, Mah Jong, taking cruises, watching American Idol on T.V. and loved listening to the Eagles and Christian music. Her favorite book was the Holy Bible. Peggie Sue was a woman of faith and devoted a lot of time and effort into her church. She was the church treasurer and enjoyed putting on puppet shows for the children at church as well. Each week she’d write a new bible lesson to teach the children with her puppets, Sam and Susie. Her church family at Bethel Baptist Church in will miss her dearly.
Peggie Sue was also a family woman. A bit stubborn at times, hard working as well, but she loved spending time and sharing the bible with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They too, will miss her tremendously.
On Sunday, August 21, 2016, Peggie Sue Roberson was called Home. She was greeted in Heaven by her parents, her husband, Billy Jack Roberson, her siblings: Patricia Jean Harrison, Nancy Marlene Vallo, Richard Cope and her son, Stephen Michael Roberson.
Her life and legacy will continue to be remembered and celebrated by her daughter, Carla Denise Stephens and her husband Darwin of Farmers Branch; her sister, Wally Jo Herrage and her husband Joe Herrage of Parker; Grandchildren: Stewart Stephens and his wife Sharon of Murphy, Melonie Germany and her husband Jim of Aubrey and Aliyse Stephens and her fiancé John of Carrollton; great-grandchildren: Krystin, Victoria, Ashleigh, Darrien, Will, Jace, and many more relatives and close friends.
