Peggy J. Brewington

and Pearl Hampton Box. She graduated from Eudora High School in 1952. She died

August 3, 2011 at C.C. Young Memorial Center in Dallas, Texas. Interment was at

Justin Cemetery, Justin, Texas, with Bro. Ron Cresswell of First Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas,

officiating.

Peggy was preceded in death by sisters Willow Dean Davis, Ela Mae Duncan, Effie Bert Erickson,

Frances Sanders; brothers E.L. Box, Jr., Frank Kent Box; sister-in-law Dorothy Box; and brother-

in-law Hinton Sanders.

Having married a career Air Force NCO in 1954, Peggy traveled the world. She lived in Casa

Blanca, Morocco; Abilene, Texas; Selma, Alabama; Taipei, Taiwan; Blytheville, Arkansas;

Marquette, Michigan; and Charleston, South Carolina.

Peggy worked hard all her life. She first helped out at home by taking care of her brothers and

sisters - a task she continued until her death. She also worked in the cotton fields, the garden,

and doing housekeeping for her parents and siblings. She worked for the Chamber of

Commerce in Eudora, Arkansas, and the Tax Assessor Collector's office in Lake Village,

Arkansas. She retired in 1994 from the Franklin County Tax Assessor Collector's office in Mt.

Vernon, Texas, in order to spend the next 11 years giving care to her mother.

Peggy is survived by sons Maxie James Brewington, Jr. and wife, Deborah of Dallas, Texas, and

Andrew Jay Brewington and wife, Alicia, of Winnsboro, Texas. Grandchildren are Brook

Brewington, Connie Sutton, and Bradley Sutton and wife, Brittany. She is also survived by

brothers Jerry Box and wife, Ellie; Jim Box; Elbert Box and wife, Marcella; and sister Rita Byrnes

and husband, J.C. and sister-in-law Sharon Box. She leaves numerous nieces and nephews

whom she loved dearly.

Peggy's family would like to thank Dr. Kent Hamilton of Digestive Health Associates for his

attentive care and advise; Dr. Priscilla Hollander of Baylor Endocrine Center for her exceptional

care; and Dr. Yvonne Coyle of Texas Oncology for her expertise, accessibility, and generous and

loving support.
