She was born at Florence Nightingale Hospital of Dallas on May 9, 1946, and was the last member and matriarch of the Bell Family, who were settlers in Bell Branch, Texas in the 1800s. Peggy was a graduate of Italy High School.
She was married to Richard Darrell between the years of 1964-1981 and then later to Jimmy Carroll on August 12, 1983, till his passing in 2017.
Peggy worked as a waitress with her mother and her sister at Brookside Inn and then later began a career with Tupperware and became the top saleswoman. Peggy returned to school at the age of 34 and received a nursing degree from Hill Junior Community College. After graduating, she worked for Dr. Alexander and then Doctor’s Hospital of Dallas.
Peggy was a member of Ridge Pointe Fellowship Church and sponsor at Freedom-Al Anon Group. She had a passion for her children, her grandchildren and love for all of God’s people. She enjoyed shopping at Thrifty, serving God, and spending time with family and friends.
Peggy is survived by her children, Donna Harrell, Lora Darrell, Tina Campbell, and Jimmy Carroll, Jr. Her grandchildren are John Darrell, Brittany Carroll, Jason Harrell, Heather Henderson, Lauren Towell, Christian Campbell. She is preceded by her sister, Patsy Duke and brother, Albert Bell.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Ridge Pointe Fellowship, 11440 Ferguson Rd., Dallas, TX 75228. Burial will follow at Clay Bell Cemetery in Italy, Texas.
