Priscilla Jean Day Green passed peacefully to Heaven on January 14, 2024, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, at the Sulphur Springs Health & Rehab Center where she'd resided for many years. Jean was greeted in Heaven by her parents, her siblings Ruby, Jack, Maxine, Lillian, Barbara, & Walterine, and many other loved ones.
Priscilla Jean was born on May 09, 1941, in Dallas, Texas, to Jack & Viola Day. She was their 7th child and the first-born of a set of twin girls. Jean was born at home, before they could get to the hospital where the second twin, Jane, was born. In the birthing process, Jean suffered permanent brain damage -- a diagnosis that she would often use comically for her benefit. It wasn't always comical to the rest of the family, but rest assured, our one-of-a-kind Jean was clever enough to know it could serve her well. Because she was a special needs child, Jean's older siblings and their children lovingly provided care in many ways to assist her throughout life.
At the age of 26, Jean married Johnny B. Green, another unforgettable person. They never had children of their own so her twin sister's kids & grandkids were her surrogate kids & grands and she wanted them to refer to her as Granny Aunt Jean.
Priscilla Jean LOVED her family and was especially proud of her twin sister Jane, always quick to introduce her and brag on her. Jean enjoyed spending her nursing home days clipping coupons and recipes, creating coloring pages and home-made birthday cards, and saving magazine articles to send to her family, wanting to be a blessing to them. It made her so happy to do things for her loved ones. It also made her happy to plan parties, in particular her own birthday party and her own anniversary party, even long after Johnny B. had passed.
Priscilla Jean was so loved and well taken care of by her hospice team these final few months.
To honor her memory, the family will be having a private gathering to reminisce and share from their endless amount of Jean stories. She will be so missed.
In lieu of flowers, contributions for Jean's burial costs and gravestone can be made to her twin sister Jane.
Interment will be at Laurel Land in Dallas.
