Rafael M. Hernandez was known by old neighborhood friends as "Willard", known by his loved ones as Husband, Dad, Brother, B-Law, Cuz and Uncle Ralph, didn't want a weary obituary noting someone's courageous battle with death. He wanted it know that he died as a result of being stubborn and refusing to follow doctor's orders, loving his family, friends, cold beer, BBQ grilling, music, cars, and his truck for over a little more than six decades. Lastly, he wanted it know that each day here with all of us was truly a gift from God.
We invite you to join in remembering and celebrating the life of Rafael. Services will be held at Calvary Hill Funeral Home. The visitation will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with the Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 12:00 p.m., with the burial to follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers include Anthony Becerra, John Carrasco, Mike Fraga, Tony Cazares, Rafael Hernandez, Jr., and Danny Costilla; Donnell "Nano" Cazares will serve as honorary pallbearer.
