Ralph "Joe" Edward Downs

Ralph “Joe” Downs was born the fourth child of ten siblings to the union of Ernest and Leona (Dawson) Downs. He spent his early years in the township of Magnolia, Mississippi. As he matured into adulthood, he and his sweetheart bride, Elnora Harris would

leave Mississippi to start a new life in Dallas, Texas. To their union were born two children; Calvin and Cynthia. Joe had a deep compassionate love for animals and gardening from his youth until his transition from this life. His working days while in Dallas, Texas, were as a pipefitter for the company, William H. LaDew Sprinkler Systems.

Awaiting his arrival are his parents, Ernest and Leona Downs; brothers, Eddris (Bill) Downs, Thomas Downs, Floyd (PeeWee) Downs; sisters, Earnestine and Norma Dean.

Joe leaves the following to continue their lives, his two sons and a daughter, Calvin, Cynthia and Victor Proctor; along with three brothers, Charles (Dorothy) Downs of Georgia, Ray (Grovenia) Downs of California, Norvell (Alberta) Downs of Mississippi and one sister, Hazel Crossley of Mississippi. He further leaves three grandchildren, Yasmine Downs of Texas, Jordin Downs of Texas and Jasmine Brown of Georgia. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, a goddaughter, a great goddaughter and a myriad of family friends will miss his presence.
