

Ransom "Bee" Lee Solomon, 88, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Ransom was born November 5, 1936 to Monico Solomon Sr. and Edna Ringer in Oakwood, Texas. Ransom graduated from Butler High School in 1954. He served in the United States Army as a Private First Class. He proudly served his country from 1955 to 1957 and was honorably discharged. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal for honorable and faithful service.
Ransom was a Forklift Operator at Affiliated Food Stores Inc. for 28 years. He went on to work at DISD for many years as a Facility Supervisor at Raul Quintanilla Sr. Middle School and Spruce High School. A dedicated entrepreneur, Ransom was the founder and owner of Solomon's Janitorial Services for over 40 years. He was a Bus Driver for Dallas County Schools until his retirement in 2021. Bee's hard work and devotion to his family was evident in everything he did. He was a gentle giant with a heart of gold. Despite his many responsibilities, he was always there for anyone who needed him. Over the years he took pleasure in tending to his cattle and horses in Oakwood, Texas. Ransom enjoyed barbecuing for family and friends, playing pool, dominoes, and fishing.
Ransom was a beloved husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mamie Louise; daughter, Sheila Solomon of McKinney, Texas; granddaughter, Sheray Solomon; great-granddaughter, Rylee Solomon of Houston, Texas; sisters, Dorothy Willis of Dallas, Texas; Rosemary Edwards of Dallas, Texas; Roe Jeanna Warren (Galen Warren, Sr.) of Richardson, Texas; Jacqueline Solomon of Athens, Texas; Nancy Solomon of Athens, Texas; brother, Monico Solomon, Jr. of Dallas, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Ransom was preceded in death by his son, Clayburn Solomon; his sister, Fayrene Smith; and his brother, Judge Solomon, Sr.
Ransom will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Although he is no longer here, may his spirit continue to uplift us. Let his memory be not just a blessing to us, but a reminder to live as he lived. As we carry forth his legacy choose to lead from a place of integrity and generosity.
A visitation to honor Ransom will be held Sunday, January 19, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 10:00 AM, both at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX 75225. Ransom will be laid to rest in the Sparkman/Hillcrest Mausoleum.
