The services will be at Laurel Land Funeral Home on Friday, June 24, 2022 with the visitation from 12:00 – 2:00 pm and the funeral at 2:00 pm.
Richard was born on November 20, 1957 in Dallas, Texas to Federico Cortez, Jr., and Rebecca Duran Cortez. He will be remembered as a loving, supportive, helpful, and patient brother to all his family and friends.
He is survived by his sister, Margarita Cortez of Garland; brothers, Federico Cortez III and fiancé Sylvia Molina of Grand Prairie, Lorenzo Cortez and wife Lindy Cortez of Winnsboro, Benito Cortez and husband Richard Hartman of Lakeside; nephews and niece, Logan Duran Cortez, Miguel Cortez, Adam Cortez, Esteban Cortez, Dewayne and Emily Noble, Zach and Sarah Noble, Dakotah, Bill Joyner and Best Friend Karen Morgan.
Pallbearers are Logan Duran Cortez, Richard Hartman, Jr., Martin Perez, Lorenzo Cortez, Federico Cortez III, Miguel Cortez and Honorary Pallbearer Paul Morgan
The family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
