Richard Lynn Smith, 63, of Grand Prairie, passed away on Wednesday June 1, 2016. Richard was born on August 8, 1952 to Robert Smith and Ruby (Huse) Smith in Dallas. Richard grew up in Oak Cliff, graduating from Kimball High School in 1970. Richard worked as a Systems Engineer, most recently with Monitronics of Dallas. He played Guitar for a local band, W. C. Fields Memorial Bluz Band. He tried out as a linebacker for The Houston Oilers, as a walk on in 1975, and just barely missed being added to the team. He was the life of the party, he always had a joke, and he was very charming and charismatic. He loved the Blues and Classic Rock, and was very fond of his Harley Davidson Ultra Classic. Richard leaves one son, Clint Smith and his wife Ashley, one daughter, Dana Smith, three Grandchildren, Jaxon Smith, Patrick Smith and Nathan Smith, and one sister Linda Kay Houston.
