He is survived by his daughter, Loren Sobel and his niece, Joy Sobel McGuire. He was preceded in death by Maxine, his wife of 57 years.
Richard loved his dog, Jake, cheering on the Dallas Mavericks, eating ice cream, and making others laugh.
