Robbie did not hesitate to put on her competitive hat when she sat down at the table to play cards, dominoes, and board games. She was a master teacher at the game table and she was often the last one sitting at the table. She also enjoyed sitting on the patio with her iPad, reading the daily newspaper, working WonderWord puzzles out of the Dallas Morning News, and watching Wheel of Fortune.
The Greater New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church was a very integral part of her life and she served their faithfully until her death. Robbie and Howard served at Greater New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church for over sixty years. In her earlier years, Robbie enjoyed singing in the choir and she could be heard singing her signature song “Lift Him Up.” She also sang with a local group called the Joyful Tones.
She was preceded in death by her husband Howard, brother Elias “Uncle Bone” Watt, and her sister Pearl Lee Nelson. Her memory will live on in the lives of her daughters Cathy (Donald) King, Doris Andrews, and Verdell (Michael) Jimison, her brother Jim (Artie) Watt, and sisters Dessie Mae Davis, and Mittie Ann Horton. In addition, she leaves to cherish her memory two grandsons Keithen Andrews and Michael Jimison II and three granddaughters, Chantrell (Kenneth)Goodgames, Taurus King, and Chaunte Jimison. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Ashley, Andrew, Elise, Mya, Trey, and Gabby as well as a host of other relatives and friends. On March 15, 2016, Robbie went to sleep on this earth and woke up in her heavenly home with her heavenly Father at her side.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 (NIV)
