Rolf Paul

Rolf Paul, age 92, of Dallas, TX, died August 13, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Janet (Katz) Paul, devoted father of Susan Paul (James Kipp) of Dallas, TX and Adrienne Azaria (Erez Azaria), of Natick, MA. Proud grandfather of Andrew, Michael, Ruth and Amy. Loving brother-in-law of Barbara Marblestone and her late husband David Marblestone. Cherished son of the late Erich and Anna Paul.

Rolf was born in Neuss, Germany on October 31, 1930. He and his family left Nazi Germany in 1938. They came to the United States, sponsored by relatives who had emigrated in the 1800s. His extended family settled in Indianapolis.

Rolf graduated from Purdue University with a BS and PhD in Chemistry and went to work in Pearl River, NY, at American Cyanamid (now Pfizer). In 1979, he was awarded the Cyanamid Scientific Achievement Award for his research in anti-asthma medication.

Rolf was an avid contract bridge player achieving several levels of Life Master. Rolf and Janet played weekly in their local club in NY and traveled the world to participate in bridge tournaments. He also loved to paint, his art is proudly displayed in the homes of all of his family members.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the United States Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC.

Per Rolf's wishes, we will not be holding a service. His ashes will be scattered as he desired.
