

March 2, 1958 in Terrell, Tx. He later moved to Dallas, Tx where he continued his education and graduated from Skyline High School in 1976. As a child, he was introduced to Christ by his beloved Aunt, Myrtle Webber at Baldwin Chapel Church of God in Christ.
At the age of 16, Eld. Ronnie Holliness accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior under the leadership of Pastor A.J. Jackson at Mt. Calvary Church of God in Christ. In 1990, Eld. Holliness was licensed as a Minister under Bishop Reginald Williams Sr. and later ordained as an Elder in the Church of God in Christ under Bishop Lee. In the early 90’s, Elder Holliness began working with the Prison Ministry under the leadership of Bro. Lonnie Wills with the Trinity Temple Full Gospel Church. Eld. Holliness developed a passion for working in the Prison Ministry and eventually branched off and started Voices of Hope Prison Ministry. With this Ministry he traveled over 30 years to prisons in Oklahoma and Texas preaching and teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.
He enjoyed volunteering feeding the homeless and working as a Chaplain in the Texas Northeast 1st & 4th Nurses Unit as well as the International Nurses Unit. He also served as a Sunday School Supt. at his home church, High Praise Church of God in Christ; where his Pastor is Pastor Patron Thomas. One of his sayings for Sunday School was, “A child saved is a soul saved, plus a life”.
Elder Holliness was married to Sis. Margaret Holliness for 42 years. They have four children, 7 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. His devotion and love for his family and friends was commendable. His love for the Lord afforded him favor with so many people. He was known for his work ethic and ability to get the job done. Eld. Holliness loved to pray. Every morning he was on the prayer line at 6:30am faithfully. Calling on the name of Jesus and interceding for others. He was so thoughtful, always giving and taking care of others.
40 years ago, Eld. Holliness started “Ron’s Landscaping” where he provided care and brought life to so many homes and businesses. He received his CDL in 2000 and worked for DART Transportation and DISD prior to starting his career in Health care where he worked at Methodist Hospital for 12 years until his health declined.
Eld. Holliness was preceded in death by his parents, Jere Heckard and Obie Glaspie, his beloved aunt who raised him, Myrtle Webber, his brothers, Gregory and Dewayne Heckard, granddaughter, Teneccia Lott, and great grandson, Aiden Andrews.
He leaves to cherish his memory:
Wife of 42 years, Margaret Holliness, 3 daughters, Tonyett Mclemore, Quiana Mclemore, and Jere Holliness, 1 son, Derrick Mclemore, 4 grandsons, Jemarcus Mclemore, Terrance Powell, Demarlon Mclemore, James Hill, 2 granddaughters, Destiny Owens and Diamond Owens, 1 great grandson, Kamden Lott, 4 great granddaughters, Audree, Kasey, Nalei, and Ava, 2 sisters, Vickie Heckard and Bridgette Moody, 3 brothers, Bruce Heckard, Talley Talley, Donald Heckard. 2 godsons, Da’Money Tasby and Andre Fonza, 1 goddaughter, Erica Roberson, 2 aunts that were very dear to him, Della Holliness and Mark Estelle, a very close cousin, Sharon Perkins, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, church family, and special friends that will cherish his memory forever.
A viewing for Ronnie will be held Friday, August 9, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75228. A celebration of life will occur Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Straightway Cathedral Church, 1121 Reynoldston Ln., Dallas, Texas 75232. A committal service will occur Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 3:30 PM to 3:50 PM at New Oak Cemetery, 391 FM 148, Terrell, Texas 75160.
