
Her husband of 62 years, Joseph F. Canterbury, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her eight children: Joseph Feild Canterbury, Jr. and wife Patricia of Tyler; Janet Marie Canterbury and partners Mary Anne Fletcher and Nancy Klimas of Miami, FL; William Michael Canterbury and wife Micki of Dallas; Mary Ann Colvin and husband Larry of St. Mary’s, West Va.; Regina Nadicksbernd and husband Bill of Fort Walton Beach, Fl.; Thomas Patrick Canterbury and wife Lily of Solon, Maine; Timothy Stephen Canterbury and wife Brenda of Sanger, TX; and Louis Theodore Canterbury and wife Janelle of Lewisville, TX. She is survived by 25 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren, and her niece Carrell Ann Cannon of Citronelle, Alabama. She was a full partner with her husband in establishing and operating several successful businesses in the construction and oil industry. She was first, foremost and always the head matriarch of the Canterbury Family and taught all how important it is to keep in touch and support and love one another as family. She was a member of Saint Mary Catholic Church in Ft. Walton Bch. and had a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and said the rosary daily. She had an abiding love of her Catholic Faith and it guided her in how she lived her life.
Visitation will be at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home at 10501 Garland Road in Dallas beginning at 6 p.m on Friday, October 15th. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 16th, at the North Chapel of Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, Texas with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Most Reverend Martin D. Holley, Auxiliary Bishop of Washington D.C will be the celebrant and Rev. Msgr. Michael Cherup, pastor of Saint Mary Catholic Church in Ft. Walton Bch, FL as con-celebrant.
Burial will follow funeral in Calvary Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to be made to Saint Mary Catholic School at 110 Robinwood Dr., Fort Walton Bch., FL 32548.
