Roxie B. Whitt, age 87, of Las Cruces and formerly of Dallas, TX passed from this life on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Casa Bella Residential Care Facility. She was born May 22, 1930 in Fort Worth, TX to Alton and Josephine Justis Brooks. Mrs. Whitt retired from the federal government as an accountant. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Rebekah Lodge in Dallas, TX.
Those left to mourn her passing include a daughter, Gwendolyn Revie (Charles); a granddaughter, Dawn Thompson (James); five great grandchildren, Dilynn Thompson (Tiffany), Jarin, Jack, Cora and Carolyn Thompson all of Las Cruces. Other survivors include a sister-in-law, Faye Brooks of Bedford, TX as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James L. Whitt; a grandson, Adam Trujillo; three sisters, Letha Mae Huntstable, Artie Faye Caldwell and Rosalie Gant; a brother, James Brooks.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 10 at Laurel Land Funeral Home Chapel, 6000 S.R.L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX.
