Ruby D. Thompson

Ruby Doris (Phelps) Thompson was born in Teneha, Texas on August 22, 1943 to the parentage of Arthur and Carrie Phelps. She accepted God at an early age and she graduated from college with an Associate’s Degree in Social Services.

She married the love of her life Jimmie “Ray” on November 20, 1960 and they were happily married for 53 years until his passing in 2013. To this union two sons were born, Frederick Owen Thompson, who passed away in 2000 and Douglas Raynard Thompson.

Ruby dedicated her entire life to her family. She was also cooking and cleaning for her husband and her two sons. Once Fred and Douglas turned 18, it was over for them, only Dad got the hot meals every day. Every Christmas and Thanksgiving Mr. and Mrs. Thompson would always have the home decorated and looking a Christmas Wonderland.

On November 27, 2020, Ruby passes away at the age of 77. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Samara Lee Conner.

Those left to cherish her memories: Son, Douglas Raynard Thompson of Killeen, Texas; brother, Arthur Phelps (Faye) of Dallas, Texas; Three granddaughters; Shavonna, Victoria, Sophia, one grandson; Maurice; two great granddaughters; Iriah and Ivory; two adopted daughters Sharon Hall and Porsha Hall, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and extremely close friends.
