

Ruby Ford, affectionately known as “TD” by family was born to the parentage of Willie and Katy Walker on May 26, 1930, in Crandall, Texas. During her early childhood she moved from Crandall, Texas to Bakersfield California where she received her formal education.
She moved to Dallas Texas and married H.O. Badgett and to this union 1 child was born. She later met and married Joe C. Ford and to this union 6 boys were born. George Badgett, Michael Ford and Darryl Ford preceded her in death.
Ruby attended Cosmetology School and opened her own Salon. She entered clients in beauty pageants where she won many 1st and 2nd place trophies. She also worked for Roux Hair Care, Proline and TCB Hair Care Companies.
At an early age she gave her life to Christ and was baptized and continued serving the Lord and growing in God’s word. As a member of True Lee Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. R.L. Parrish, she served in Baptist Training Union, Vacation Bible School, Mission Auxiliary and Adult choir. She was also a growing disciple in Sunday School.
After many faithful years she relocated her membership to Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. CBT Smith and Rev. Vincent Parker where she continued serving the Lord. While at Golden Gate, she was selected as a Silver Eagle Honoree and was chosen to be part of The Mother Board, which is a group of senior women of the church who have served in leadership positions. They possess a collection of wisdom and experience vital to the church, where they stand ready and available to lift the church as a body and individual member in prayer, as well as provide Godly wisdom for counseling. As her health began to decline, she joined New Beginnings at Mountain View Community Church where her son and daughter-in-law are members under the leadership of Rev. Homer Thomas Jr. until her passing.
The celebration of life and legacy continues with her four sons: Joe (Patricia) Ford, Ruben (Susan) Ford, Terry (Marina) Ford and Andre Ford, one brother Doyle Walker and a host of nieces/nephews/ grand/ great grand and great-great grandchildren and friends who will miss her dearly. Special recognition to her two close friends Wanda Blair and Linda Jacobs and the staff at Park Village Nursing and Rehab.
